Job Duties

1. Provides on-site supervision of MWD/LWD and Directional Drilling (DD) operations under general supervision
2. Oversees tool preparation, data acquisition, log generation, quality control, and service delivery to the customer
3. Understands Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) selection and DD performance principles
4. Ensures BHAs are assembled as planned, including correct make-up torque, doping, and handling
5. Ensures all data delivered to the customer is accurate, timely, and meets high service quality standards
6. Provides technical consultation using DD software, well path projections, well profile plots, survey calculations, and directional survey data in line with client procedures
7. Tests all tools and equipment before, during, and after each job
8. Identifies and corrects operational problems to minimize service impact
9. Works with RDC engineers to complete required forms, databases, and reports (service vouchers, lost/damaged equipment, radiation site survey, EJCS, FAD/CPI)
10. Interfaces with Remote Drilling Coordinator (RDC) and/or Directional Driller (DD) to ensure BHA compatibility and correct operating parameters
11. Ensures correct toolface references and maintains toolface control in tangent and build sections
12. Assists RDC with daily DD reports, BHA performance reports, service tickets, and paperwork (well data spreadsheets, lessons learned/best practices)
13. Maintains records of all DD equipment at the well site, including dimensions and condition
14. Ensures equipment is laid out, documented, and backloaded according to company procedures at job end
15. Participates in performance improvement initiatives as required

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Undergraduate STEM degree required
3. Completion of basic M/LWD and DD training programs
4. Minimum 1 year experience in LWD and DD operations (preferably as FSS I)
5. Must possess or be able to obtain relevant onshore/offshore safety certificates
